Research Scientist – Exosome Assay Development

For exciting research in the field of cancer treatment ExoProTher Medical is seeking a highly-motivated scientist in the field of extracellular vesicles (EVs) isolation and characterization. The research aims to develop novel cancer treatment based on p53 containing exosomes. The position provides growth opportunities in professional and management aspects.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute experimental plan for EVs isolation optimization and cargo characterization.

  • Lead development of quality assays for batch-to-batch reproducibility.

  • Documentation and presentation of results to ExoProTher team and at scientific conferences.

  • Participate in drafting of manuscripts, grants, and patent fillings.

Please apply if you have:

  • Ph.D. (or equivalent industry experience) in chemical engineering, nanotechnology, biophysics, analytical chemistry, cell biology, or a related field with experience in exosome biology research and/or nanoparticle-based delivery systems.

  • Deep understanding of physical and chemical principles governing nanoparticle or protein purification method development is a must.

  • Extensive hands-on experience with size- or charge-based methods for the nanoparticle isolation or protein purification preferably in biotech/biopharma industry or research institute core facility

  • The desire to work with cutting-edge technologies to harness the untapped potential of exosomes in field of cancer treatment.

Advantage:

  • Surface chemistry, zeta-potential, size exclusion, ion exchange, colloid science, nanoparticle synthesis, magnetic bead separation or microfluidics

  • Strong analytical background including prior experience with dynamic light scattering, Zeta potential, nanoparticle tracking analysis and electron microscopy

  • Excellent creative thinking, scientific problem-solving, and communication skills

  • Function well in a team environment as well as working independently

  • Ability to plan and guide scientific projects

  • Valuable supplementary experiences include:

  • Familiarity with analytical methods used to extract, quantify, and characterize nucleic acids (e.g., qPCR and next-generation sequencing)

  • Broad knowledge of protein quantitation assays including BCA, proteomic, immunoblotting, ELISA, flow cytometry.

  • Hands on experience with cell culture and aseptic technique

  • Experience mentoring and training research associates and junior scientists
